Disney is drastically increasing prices starting May 20
Disney is raising pass prices 30% (as well as other prices) on May 20. For example, Premium passes are jumping from $499 to $649 per year. If you have not obtained or renewed your pass yet, you may want to do so immediately. (I'm not sure that obtaining/renewing a pass before May 20 will lock in the old rate for you for a year, but you may want to check on this right away.)

I'm pretty bummed by this.. From what I am hearing, if you have a renewal date for June you can still renew at the old rate. My husband and I were talking about upgrading when our renewal hits in December but with this change we will be lucky to keep what we have.

RE: Disney is drastically increasing prices starting May 20
For most of us, we have to have a tight budget to afford Disney.. extra perks like candy and toys are not typically on the 'have to have' list. One thing we have found effective is to bring a disney toy from home with us to WDW to offset the need for a new toy.. doesn't always work.. but every little bit helps.

We take toys food a 2 liter of soda a gallon of water
and just get cups of ice along the way on some days then once a week we splurge and eat there and buy Dean lots of goodies. But we also go 2-3 times a week lol |

RE: Disney is drastically increasing prices starting May 20
The price increase is a little silly. I think it would discourage current passholders from renewing their passes for the following year. Right before the increase was introduced and put into effect I saw a line of passholders renewing their passes before midnight so they could get the previous prices.
I could understand they need to pay for carsland and I understand that they need to keep up with new staff as well. But everything there is overly priced to being with. It's mainly for tourist and they're making the increase for those that have found loopholes and take complete advantage of their passes like me! |
